Message from the CEO

Welcome to Ce-MEBSA website

ce-mebsa-welcomeResearch at Ce-MEBSA covers a various aspects of marine ecology, including the use of water ecosystem both marine and land water ecosystem, especially focuses on its use for aquaculture activities. Farming practice will always grow the farmed biotas in high density at the limited area/cage. Thus, high production capacity tends to be the main goal in order to get benefits as much as possible. Therefore, application of good design of the cage, not just for high production but also ecologically friendly, is key factor to maintain carrying capacity of the environment. Application of biomonitoring, biosafety and biosecurity in regular basis may be the important aspects to be considered in order to anticipate their impacts on the water environment. In particular, the use of structure of macrobenthos community is considered effective to determine various environmental disturbances both in farming and industrial activities. Macrobenthos can respond quickly to changes in the environment occurred through the structure and abundance changes. Furthermore, relationship between ABIOTIC and BIOTIC factors may also mathematically assessed through regression models, especially on how to determine the parameters of the multiple linear regression equation. Last but not least, diversification of aquaculture products is also our concern to add their values and improving the quality of the products.

It’s a pleasure to conduct the various research on sustainable aquaculture in integrated ways together with the innovative and dedicated team of multidisciplinary researchers, lab scientists, and graduate and postgraduate students. Our MISSION is improving water quality in line with applying green aquaculture practice for production capacity as well as maintaining carrying capacity of the environment.

I welcome researchers focusing on sustainable aquaculture to joint with us and carry out some collaborative research and joint scientific publication, driving some discoveries and translate them from the bench top into front-line farming practice. I also invite you to visit our web site on a regular basis to keep up to date on the Ce-MEBSA’s activities . You will see our strong VISION to cutting edge aquaculture research and practice for human welfare and good water ecosystem, as The Ce-MEBSA’s.

Best Regards,

ttd
